Role Title: Instrumentation Technician

Schedule: 7x7, 12-hour shift, Day and Night Schedule

Purpose of Role:Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician is responsible for working with the electrical department to install, calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation.
Role Accountabilities:- Works to install, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instrumentation.
- Provides controls system programming and process troubleshooting using ABB 800xA historical data collection system required.
- Works with the electrical department to install and troubleshoot 600V variable speed drives and motors.
- Troubleshoot and repair level, pressure, flow transmitters, air dryers, instrument air, plant air, and compressors.
- Troubleshoot and calibrate pneumatics, process valving, actuators, and related components.
- Utilize HART communicators and maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate process analyzers.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial communication systems, including fibre optics, CCTV, serial/fieldbus, ethernet, and wireless networks.
- Read and accurately interpret P&IDs, schematics, and loop diagrams to troubleshoot systems and execute work safely.
- Performs any other responsibilities related to the Instrumentation Technician role as required or as assigned by the department head.
Qualifications:- Red Seal Trade Certification in Instrumentation and Controls Technician,
- 3-5 Years Industrial Instrumentation experience is required.
- Distributed Control System and PLC programming are considered an asset,
- Experience with SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Toshiba Drives, ABB Software, Singer Valve, and Rotork Valve maintenance desirable,
- Possess a valid Class 5/7N driver's license and have access to personal transportation.
Other skills: - High level of confidence and proficiency with computer systems, navigating industrial software, and adapting to new digital tools.
- Good mathematical, scientific, and mechanical reasoning.
- Manual dexterity.
- Detail-oriented with sound decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and technical reading skills.
- Self-motivated and desire to keep up to date with technological developments in the field.
- Ability to support ongoing maintenance and operational needs.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and technical assistance.
- Able to demonstrate proper lifting techniques to lift up to 25 kilograms
