Job Details

Geocomp is seeking a Project Manager experienced in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring of heavy civil construction projects to join our team in New York, NY or Baltimore, MD.

This role involves the design of instrumentation and monitoring programs, monitoring of construction activities, data interpretation, report preparation, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design instrumentation systems.
  • Coordinate and support the field installation of instrumentation equipment.
  • Perform ongoing evaluation of monitoring data and the status of instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare instrumentation bids and technical proposals.
  • Manage project staff and coordinate field activities related to the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, including the interpretation of instrumentation data.
  • Promote positive health and safety practices, ensuring company and project standards are met.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while meeting project objectives and client expectations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a major in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of consulting experience working directly with clients, including 4+ years of experience in structural and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of the installation and monitoring of prisms, AMTS units, seismographs, inclinometers, tilt meters, data loggers, observation wells, boring inspections, strain gauges, extensometers, borehole instrumentation, and web-based data management systems.
  • Proven experience preparing bids for general contractors and technical proposals.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong time and people management skills.
  • Excellent client relationship skills with a strong commitment to client service.
  • Willingness to travel and spend time on project sites during critical project stages.

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New York.
