Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer (NH-0801-03) to work at Eglin AFB, FL. This is an interdisciplinary position and will consider (0801, 0855, 0861, 0830 OPM series candidates).
Member will serve as a professional engineer responsible for engineering for assigned programs/projects related to Airborne Instrumentation. Employee plans and carries out assignments independently; conceives and defines solutions to highly complex problems; analyzes, interprets, and reports findings of projects; and guides technical and programmatic work of team members in comparable junior grades. Completed work and reports are reviewed for feasibility, compatibility with other work or effectiveness in meeting requirements or expected results.
Salary: $89,508 - $138,370
Value of Position (VOP): If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required.
A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution is requirement.
The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
This position is designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
Knowledge of professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, materials, and equipment to effectively apply multidisciplinary engineering theories, procedures, and techniques to design and maintain airborne instrumentation modifications.
Knowledge to perform requirements planning, coordination, test direction, data collection, analysis, and reporting of results for a wide variety of 896 TSS projects.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques, procedures, and processes to provide credible and precise technical inputs related to airborne instrumentation.
Skill in planning and organizing engineering activities, analyzing data to verify item/system meets established performance requirements, and in providing thorough and precise information to management.
Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications.
