DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer/Technologist based in Calgary, Edmonton or remotely. As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer/Technologist, you will be responsible for the entire I&C scope of projects of various sizes across diverse industries.
Responsibilities- Create I&C design documents including system architectures, network diagrams, I/O wiring diagrams, cable diagrams, control narratives etc.
- Prepare instrumentation datasheets and perform technical bid evaluations
- Redline, review and approve project drawings and documents to ensure they meet company and client specifications
- Perform and support FAT (factory acceptance test), IO checkout, loop tests, functional tests, and SAT (site acceptance test)
Requirements- Minimum of 7 years of experience working as an Instrument and Controls Engineer/Technologist in heavy industrial environments such as oil & gas, mining, petrochemical, or similar industries
- Technical diploma or engineering degree in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical, electronics, computer science)
- Engineering license (e.g. P. Eng, P.L.Eng)
- Strong understanding of the different layers of the OSI and TCP/IP models
- Proficient using AutoCAD
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- PLC/DCS programming experience preferred
- Hands-on network troubleshooting preferred
- Scripting, Data analysis & Object-Oriented Programming preferred
