Job Description

Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of moderate to complex advanced scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.
• Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate to advanced complexity
• Check work done by other Designers
• Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of moderate to advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Other Job Requirements
• Develop and check wiring and loop diagrams
• Check or audit control systems models and drawings
• Develop and check controlsystems area and unit location plan drawings
• Perform and or check design calculations(e.g., wire sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, junction box or panel sizing)
• Perform Instrument material take-off
• Create and assign intermediate complexity instrument installation details
• Develop home office effort hour estimates, material and drawing estimates
• Perform field surveys or assistance
• Advanced knowledge of:

o 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD systems and procedure

o Hexagon Smart® Instrumentation software

o Hexagon Smart® Review software

o 3Dmodeling software (Hexagon Smart® 3D, etc.)

o Fluor design guides, controlsystemstechnical practices and controlsystems design drawings

o Controlsystemsrepresentation on drawings and knowledge of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D systems and procedures o Instrumentation and controlsystems design in a 3D model

o Hexagon Smart® Review software

o Intermediate knowledge of Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) representation; has the ability to recognize/resolve problems associated with control systems representation on P&ID

Salary is based upon experience. Salary Range: $84,500.00 - $157,500.00

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
