Full Job Description
As an Instrument Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for selling thermal analysis and fusion point instruments and supplies to end users in Boston and the surrounding regions. You will act as the primary company representative, maintaining the highest level of integrity, customer relations and service while achieving the goals established by management. What you will do:

  • Pursue strategic opportunity for the MatChar Business by cultivating partnerships and identifying new markets and customers in an underdeveloped territory.
  • Implement strategic business plan to expand territory.
  • Map competitive accounts landscape in assigned territory and develop, then execute specific action plans to penetrate said accounts.
  • Aggressively grow market share and achieve the annual sales target in both revenue and units to create a new and sustainable sales territory.
  • Identify and develop present and future key accounts in an assigned territory and maintain customer database.
  • Promote other divisions by finding leads for balance, instrument and all other METTLER TOLEDO products, and meet with local reps from other divisions to discuss business opportunities.
  • Fully develop current product knowledge capabilities, applications, product justification.
  • Enthusiastically support national promotion programs.
  • Maintain customer relationship management (CRM) database on a daily basis.
  • Contact and aggressively pursue all potential customers identified by leads received by the company.
  • Complete lead cycle and close lead within CRM on a regular basis.


What You Need to Succeed

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the field of Physics, Engineering or Chemistry with related experience in thermal analysis.
  • Three or more years of selling technical equipment to the plastic, polymer and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis and other thermal analysis applications.
  • Significant experience with ERP and/or CRM systems; SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to make presentations to senior groups and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • On-site customer product demonstrations, training and installations, and providing technical support to customers.
