Full Job Description
Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a full-time Instrument & Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This role is part of a team that is responsible for applying technical expertise in the development of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) equipment design specifications and document deliverables to satisfy Customer requirements, minimize risk, and ensure product integrity for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs). This position is located in Fenton, MO. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Instrument & Mechanical Project Engineer reports directly to the I&C Engineering Manager and will be responsible for determining required supply and design requirements of valves, instrumentation and specialty equipment based on thermal process data, applicable codes, technical standards and Customer requirements, reviewing Supplier data to evaluate technical validity and conformance to specifications and to identify associated risks, collaborating with cross-functional project team in Supplier selection process for valve, instrumentation and equipment orders and providing design solutions that are feasible and cost-effective.

As an Instrument & Mechanical Project Engineer you will oversee the development and maintenance of project specific Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), develop and maintain critical project documents including Valve, Instrument and Equipment Lists, control system Input/Output (I/O) Lists, data sheets, and other Customer required documentation, assist in the development and management of Control Logic Diagrams and Control Logic Narratives, analyze thermal process data and perform the required engineering calculations to establish the appropriate technical requirements for equipment design Communicate and coordinate with Suppliers, evaluate bids, identify risks, and make recommendations for procurement of valves and instrumentation, develop and manage purchase order packages for valves, instrumentation and specialty equipment, review Customer technical specifications, critical project documentation and Supplier equipment data, and communicate and collaborate with intradepartmental team members to address questions and comments and resolve technical issues.

  • Four-year degree; BSME preferred, BSChE or BSEE accepted.
  • Excellent time management and written and spoken communication skills, highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player; proficiency in English.
  • Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
