Full Job Description

We are seeking an Instructor Trainer to support the delivery, development, and continuous improvement of global instructor onboarding and development programs. Reporting to the Head of Civil Global Instructor Development Training (IDT), this role is responsible for promoting globally consistent instructor training practices, supporting instructor-facing courseware development, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, CAE training standards, and global instructor development processes. The Instructor Trainer collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to drive instructor qualification, standardization, and training excellence while contributing to global training initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Deliver instructor training programs in accordance with Civil Global IDT standards, policies, and training requirements.
  • Apply global instructional standards consistently across all instructor development activities.
  • Serve as an Instructor Trainer, Mentor, or Coach by supporting instructor development through demonstration, feedback, coaching, and best-practice role modeling.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of instructor-facing courseware, ensuring alignment with approved IDT courseware management processes.
  • Contribute to courseware creation, revision, digital optimization, and lifecycle management to support high-quality learning experiences.
  • Deliver training using virtual and classroom methodologies, including modern digital learning tools and online facilitation techniques.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Training Managers, Center Leaders, HR Partners, Training Standards Specialists, and Standards Leaders to support instructor onboarding, qualification planning, and resource readiness.
  • Provide input into instructor training forecasts and qualification sequencing to support operational needs.
  • Support global alignment and standardization initiatives through cross-center collaboration and communication.
  • Track instructor progress, training outcomes, quality indicators, and performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support reporting and monitoring of organizational objectives and performance measures, including OKRs and KPIs.
  • Conduct instructor observations, evaluations, coaching sessions, and structured feedback discussions using established competency frameworks.
  • Promote instructional excellence by applying competency-based training and assessment principles and reinforcing consistent instructional and assessment practices.
  • Participate in multi-center and global training initiatives as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold or have previously held an ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
  • Hold or have previously held one of the following:
    • FAA Instructor Certificate; or
    • Part-FCL Instructor Certificate issued by an EASA Member State; or
    • Equivalent qualification meeting applicable regulatory requirements related to the training domain supported.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience delivering or managing instructor training programs.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory training frameworks such as EASA Part-FCL, Part-ORA, FAA Parts 61, 135, and 142.
  • Experience delivering instructor development training programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and competency-based training and assessment (CBTA/EBT).
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing instructors, trainers, assessors, or similar training professionals.
  • Experience developing and maintaining instructional courseware, including lesson plans, presentations, and assessments.
  • Experience conducting instructor observations, evaluations, and feedback sessions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple locations, cultures, and time zones.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance measures, training outcomes, and quality indicators.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and virtual training delivery platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within an Approved Training Organization (ATO), Air Operator Certificate (AOC) environment, or global aviation training organization.
  • Multi-domain aviation training experience, including Business Aviation Training (BAT), Commercial Aviation Training (CAT), Flight Training Organizations (FTO), or related environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple business units, training programs, or operational domains.
  • Advanced knowledge of instructor qualification, onboarding pathways, and training progression programs.
  • Familiarity with instructor onboarding pathways, including new hire onboarding, Part 1, CBTA, CRM, IPPM/DOI, and training sequencing methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating courseware governance processes and structured content update programs.
  • Experience leading or coordinating global, regional, or multi-center training initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering programs in areas such as:
    • Teaching and Learning
    • CBTA Fundamentals
    • Crew Resource Management (CRM)
    • Briefing and Debriefing Techniques
    • Instructor Competencies
    • Related instructor development disciplines
  • Advanced online facilitation and virtual learning delivery experience.
