Full Job Description
Major/Essential Functions

  • Delivers comprehensive in-patient and out-patient care for patients with conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, and head and neck region.
  • Performs a broad spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic surgical procedures in otolaryngology, including complex head and neck surgeries.
  • Participates in call rotation to provide timely and expert emergency coverage, as scheduled.
  • Participates in teaching activities, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds for medical students and/or residents, and continuing medical education.
  • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.
  • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties.
  • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
  • Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
  • Experience in teaching medical students and residents.
  • Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports.
  • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.
