Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Collision Instructor & Peer Group Facilitator delivers ATI's curriculum to independent collision shop owners and their teams, facilitates confidential peer advisory groups for collision shop owners and leaders, and hosts recurring member workshops on high-impact collision topics such as estimating and insurance-company negotiation. The position combines deep collision industry expertise with strong instructional and facilitation skills, translating complex business concepts into practical, immediately applicable knowledge for collision shop owners and their teams.

All three functions- instruction, facilitation, and workshop delivery- are core to the role. The relative balance between them is flexible and is expected to evolve over time as ATI's collision program grows.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Course Instruction (Collision)
  • Deliver ATI curriculum to independent collision shop owners and their teams across live, virtual, and on-demand formats.
  • Translate business concepts - financials, sales, leadership, succession, and operations - into practical, shop-floor applications for a collision audience.
  • Adapt delivery style and content to the format, audience, and experience level of each session.
  • Partner with curriculum and instructional design staff to keep collision-relevant content accurate, current, and credible.

Peer Group Facilitation (Collision)
  • Lead small, confidential peer advisory groups of high-performing independent collision shop owners & leaders through structured sessions live and virtual.
  • Facilitate and instruct by drawing out member expertise, guiding discussion, and surfacing solutions from within the group.
  • Ask probing, candid questions that move members past surface-level answers.
  • Hold members accountable to their stated commitments and goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality, trust, and professional standards essential to the peer group environment.

Member Workshop Delivery (Collision)
  • Plan and host recurring open workshops for collision members on high-impact topics, anchored by estimating and insurance-company negotiation.
  • Use member-submitted estimates, scenarios, and real-world situations as live working material.
  • Identify and develop new workshop topics in response to evolving collision-member needs.

General
  • Represent ATI professionally with members, partners, and at industry events.
  • Contribute collision industry insight to the broader Training & Development team.
  • Perform other duties assigned in support of ATI's collision-member experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Substantial collision repair industry experience with a record of credibility among shop owners and operators.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct or present to groups in live and/or virtual settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and facilitation skills, including the judgment to guide discussion among experienced business owners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and to travel occasionally for live events and meetings.

Note: Prior collision shop ownership is welcomed but not required. Demonstrated industry expertise and instructional ability take precedence.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge across several of the following collision domains is strongly preferred:
  • Estimating, blueprinting, and repair planning
  • Insurance-company and DRP relationship dynamics and negotiation
  • OEM certification programs and their business implications
  • ADAS calibration and modern collision repair requirements
  • Paint, refinish, and production operations, cycle time, and performance metrics

Preferred Education & Certifications
  • I-CAR training or certification (Platinum preferred)
  • ASE certification(s)
  • Prior collision shop ownership or senior operations/management experience
