Job Title: Instructor - Advanced Practice Provider (South Metro Denver)



Job Summary:

The University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is looking for Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at the rank of Instructor. The APP will work as a member of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation adult health team at a variety of potential sites: CU Medicine Highlands Ranch Medical Office Building, UCHealth Steadman Hawkins Inverness, and UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center. Major responsibilities include clinical practice, message triage and patient education. There are numerous opportunities to participate in teaching, research, and professional development. This position is available as full-time appointment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provides comprehensive care to patients with spine and rehabilitation medicine needs (Minimum of 8 clinic sessions per week)
• Provides appropriate follow-up with patients/families, primary care physicians, nursing and administrative staff
• Coordinating appropriate appointments, i.e. PT, OT, nutrition, orthopedics, neurosurgery
• Participates in educational activities and incorporate findings into practice
• Provides and/or serves as a resource for patients/families, faculty members, and staff
• Provides excellent service routinely in interactions with all patients, families, co-workers, staff, visitors, physicians, volunteers, outside vendors and school officials.
• EPIC in-basket message management for assigned attending providers (triage and answer)
• Attend Department academic meetings (faculty meetings, grand rounds)
• Work collaboratively with other APPs in the Department (providing back-up coverage.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, Colorado

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
• Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner)
• Current BLS certifications or successful completion within six months of hire

Physicians Assistant
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant
• Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant)
• Current BLS certifications or successful completion within six months of hire
• Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
• At least two years of clinical experience preferred. May be willing to train new graduate with previous rehabilitation, spine or neuromuscular experience or exceptional qualities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
• Proven ability to evaluate patients with high complexity, both medically and psychosocially
• Detail-oriented with strong clinical judgment.
• Desire to learn and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$106,975 - $147,361 for full-time 1.0 FTE.

Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
