Instructional Designer, Senior Associate | Readiness & Associate Experience
This role will be responsible for the design and development of a diverse set of learning materials to support our Retail Banking Teams including Branch and Café Ambassadors and Small Business Associates. This individual will partner closely with Learning Consultants, Principal Designers, and business partners to translate business intent into engaging learning materials, with a focus (though not exclusively) on digital-first learning methods. With support from a Principal Designer, this individual will help analyze learning needs, design and develop blended learning solutions from raw materials, and help measure and report on learning effectiveness. They will script videos, storyboard e-Learning courses, structure simulations, create digital games, and much more. We are focused on delivering memorable, engaging, learning experiences to our associates that drive performance and achieve business objectives by leveraging integrated learning throughout their career.
As a Senior Associate learning designer, you will partner with Principal Designers, SMEs, Project Managers, Facilitators, and Learning Consultants to design and develop engaging learning experiences. In this highly collaborative role, you will support the end-to-end design process and help drive key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of a Principal Designer, design and develop content for specific programs and stand-alone offerings that support the learning & performance needs of associates in Branch, Cafs, and Small Business Banking
Support the needs analysis process by identifying the additional context that will help to ensure successful transfer of skills to the job
Recommend effective format/modalities that create an optimal learning experience while demonstrating an understanding of adult learning principles
Work directly with SMEs to design and develop engaging learning materials and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, e-Learning, etc.) based on industry design standards for a given modality (includes traditional, web, and mobile design)
Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologies
Partner with project team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needs
Collaborate with other Instructional Designers and Learning Consultants on the team to support the ADDIE process, as appropriate
Take personal responsibility for tasks and follow-through to completion with a high degree of independence while collaborating with the broader team.

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 2 years of experience designing curriculum or programs using a blended learning design and modern learning theories and models
At least 2 years of experience designing and developing a variety of learning solutions for digital, virtual and classroom settings
At least one year of experience with Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with Articulate 360
1+ year of experience working with an agile team of designers and developers
2+ years of experience in training design, development and delivery
2+ years of experience leveraging design thinking and human centered design methodologies to solve problems

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $88,800 - $101,300 for Sr. Learning Associate
Plano, TX: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Learning Associate
Richmond, VA: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Learning Associate
Wilmington, DE: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Learning Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
