Supervisor to Role: School Director
Start/End Date: Hours: 7:30am-4:45pm + some out of school time responsibilities
Compensation: $75,000-$95,000 with a comprehensive benefits package. (Please note that this is a general range/salaries are based on credentials and years of experience)
Summary of Role The Instructional Coach is passionate about ensuring all scholars succeed in the school's rigorous academic program through coaching and supporting the teachers on their coaching load and at their school site. The Instructional Coach has a razor-sharp focus on the school's mission and the drive to meet the key responsibilities of:
Coaching and supporting teachers in all elements of management and instruction - Performing lesson observations and providing specific and actionable feedback for improvement to teachers of a range of tenures and grade-levels
- Vetting scripted or unscripted lesson plans and providing other curricular guidance through the forms of curricular reflection and auditing
- Modeling lesson preparation, classroom management, and instruction for teachers in a range of subjects and grades
- Analyzing scholar data with the school site instructional coaching team and individual teachers to create actionable steps for classroom instruction, intervention, and curricular reflection
- Working with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Scholar Services Manager, At-Risk Specialist and classroom teachers to determine the most appropriate intervention for struggling scholars
Training and professional development - Creating and delivering professional development to teachers and staff during the summer session and on an as-needed basis throughout the course of the year (at least one half day each month).
- Creating individualized improvement plans for struggling teachers and monitoring progress towards clear goals
Other Responsibilities Include: - Collaborating with teachers to find real solutions to challenges faced in the classroom, using data to drive decision making
- Providing recommendations for school-wide professional development based on the instructional needs of teachers
- Interviewing prospective teachers and observing demonstration lessons
Qualifications: - Experience coaching/developing others in some capacity
- At least 4 years of teaching experience in a rigorous school environment with evidence of strong performance
- Demonstrated success working with adults in a manager or coach capacity
- Show alignment to Classical Charter School's mission and approach
- Exhibit excellent work ethic and organizational skills

- Ability to work during Classical's Summer Learning Academy for onboarding; for coaches transitioning from Classical teaching positions, participation in only 1 week of SLA coaching is necessary
