Position Description: The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing learning solutions that support organizational goals. This role partners with subject matter experts (SMEs), project teams, and stakeholders to create effective, engaging, and user-centered training materials across various modalities.
This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Collaborate with SMEs to assess training needs and define learning objectives.
. Design and develop instructional content including e learning modules, instructor led training (ILT), job aids, user guides, and blended learning solutions.
. Use learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, or similar) to guide solution development.
. Conduct needs assessments, task analyses, and learner analyses to inform design decisions.
. Develop storyboards, scripts, and prototypes to present concepts and gather feedback.
. Utilize authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Rise, or similar.
. Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics; recommend improvements.
. Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all learning deliverables.
. Maintain documentation and version control throughout project lifecycle.
. Support continuous improvement of learning programs and design processes
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field (Master's a plus).
. 2-5+ years of experience in instructional design or learning development.
. Proficiency with e learning authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS).
. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
. Excellent writing, editing, communication, and project management skills.
. Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams in a fast paced environment.
. Experience designing for federal, technical, or software based training environments preferred (if applicable to your audience).
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
. Graphic design or multimedia development (e.g., Camtasia, Vyond).
. Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
. Experience developing technical or systems based training.

To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70800 to $156700
