In this position you will Serves as the installation authority and expert on all areas involving anti-terrorism and force protection requirements, policy, procedures, and program status. Acts as the focal point to coordinate, deconflict, and integrate various force protection staff initiatives, policies, and activities withing the installation/wing. Serves as the consultant to the defense force commander, and installation units and commanders on force protection. Reviews unit practices and activities to ensure compliance with directives and integration with other security and related programs. Provides security forces recommendations, briefings, and updates as necessary to influence anti-terrorism/force protection policy development. Manages and acts as the approval authority for the installation Enterprise Protection Risk Management (EPRM) database. Oversees the data entered by the EPRM administrator for accuracy, content, and entry completeness. As the Wing Commanders delegated EPRM representative, ensures the setting of final priorities of EPRM entries. Conducts the vulnerability assessment or other force protection surveys to identify specific physical vulnerabilities of an installation. Reviews and tracks reports and other data produced by the EPRM.
Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the coordinated anti-terrorism and force protection program for the installation/wing. Involves all measures related to physical security and operational security for all installation/wing facilities, arms/munitions storage activities, and personnel. Interprets often broad, non-specific higher headquarters directives for installation/wing applicability and implementation. When U.S., DoD, Unified Commands, MAJCOM, and USAF directives are not specific, formulates installation/wing force protection procedures and policies based on unique command and operational needs. On a regular basis, accomplishes assignments requiring application of new concepts and theories to security problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted security measures or procedures.
Plans, conducts, directs the conduct of, or coordinates on security site studies, projects, assessments, and surveys of the installation in relationship to anti-terrorism and force protection activities. Works with civil engineering to assess and endorse on all installation construction projects to ensure AT/FP construction standard compliance. Activities assessed may encompass all security specialties. Analyzes data to identify physical and operations security compliance or non-compliance, vulnerabilities, trends, strengths, and benchmarks. Determines, formulates, coordinates, and implements specific installation/wing guidance and actions to correct security deficiencies, overcome vague or competing requirements, promote the growth of sound security procedures, and justify major fiscal expenditures and procurement of needed security technology, security aids and equipment, manpower, and infrastructure.
Represents the installation and Air Base Wing commander at meetings, conferences, workshops, panels, etc., at MAJCOM and other federal agency levels as the installation/wing force protections and anti-terrorism technical authority. Serves as a member and acts as the chairperson for various boards and working groups to include the Force Protection Board and Threat Working Group. Determines the need for, organizes, and conducts meetings, conferences, and workshops at the installation, wing, or subordinate unit level to discuss and resolve specific force protection issues or problems, or highlight new security policies, procedures, and requirements. Also interacts and meets with other agencies and local authorities such as personnel from the local Homeland defense Office, FBI, local army posts, naval stations, civil authorities, fire departments, hospitals, and airports to provide a forum for the cross-flow of information and work together on community issues and threats.

Department of Defense Physical Security Certification conferral(s) are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Practical knowledge of commonly applied security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve moderately complex security problems.
Knowledge of DoD and Air Force antiterrorism and force protection doctrine, policies, and instructions to coordinate objectives and develop plans for interrelated security programs.
Knowledge of security program relationships to make recommendations allowing for differing program requirements, and multiple security objectives.
Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting information to leadership.
Ability to prioritize and recommend resourcing strategies for the correction or mitigation of AT vulnerabilities on the installation.
