STV is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Transportation Northeast department in Hartford, CTResponsibilities:- Inspect construction activities related to highway/bridges, facilities/buildings, or rail/transit projects.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions.
- Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action
- Review project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders.
- Complete daily work reports with photographs and progress documentation
- Track and document quantities of work performed by the contractor
- Resolve construction problems and challenges in the field
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and agency representatives, to facilitate project success.
Required Qualifications:- NICET Level 1 with 4 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection. Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred a degree in Civil Engineering
- Working knowledge of COMPASS and AASHTOWare Project
- NETTCP - Concrete Inspector, ACI - Concrete Certification, NETTCP - HMA Paving Inspector, NACE, AMP, or BCI - Coating Inspector, and ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certifications.
Compensation Range:
$84,466.00 - $95,984.00
