The Opportunity

Employer: United Services Automobile Association

Tasks: Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Leads, facilitates and/or collaborates with cross functional teams and vendors in support of the end-to-end research project(s). Determines the appropriate research methodologies, design innovation, marketing strategies and general industry trends to solve business problems within specific areas of expertise. Applies advanced level of knowledge in conducting research using the appropriate methodology (quantitative, qualitative, text or business intelligence). Examples include surveys, usability tests, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and ethnographical studies. Formulates findings into business recommendations and presents findings to various levels of leadership. Mentors and provides guidance to peers and team members; navigates through obstacles to resolve escalated issues of an unusual nature. Researches and identifies industry best practices and trends to increase effectiveness. Acquires, maintains, and applies advanced knowledge of the business, its products and processes, and advanced knowledge of qualitative or quantitative research methodologies to represent member sentiment across products, channels, and experiences. May allow for partial telecommuting.

Requirements: Employer will accept a degree in Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or related field and 6 years of post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Quantitative and qualitative research methodologies: survey design and analysis, focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnographic studies, usability testing, and customer experience research;
  • Statistical testing and modeling: Z-tests, T-tests, ANOVA, linear/logistic regression, correlation analysis using SAS Enterprise Guide, Python (pandas, stats models, and scikit-learn), and SPSS;
  • Database management and integration: Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL, and Snowflake, supporting end-to-end analytical workflows including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL);
  • Qualtrics XM for survey programming, distribution, and analytics;
  • Qualtrics XM's Text iQ for unstructured text and sentiment analysis;
  • Tableau and Power BI for dashboard development, trend analysis, and reporting; and
  • Knowledge of research compliance and data governance, including risk management, regulatory standards, data privacy protocols, and ethical research practices
