Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing for Nurse Practitioners, or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure and listed on the Colorado Advanced Practice Nurse Registry for NPs; PA Certification by N.C.C.P.A. for PAs.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
  • Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P) for NPs where applicable.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery/Orthopedics.

  • Perform clinical examinations for inpatients.
  • Write orders and prescriptions.
  • Identify problem lists based on protocols and evidence-based standards.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results.
  • Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Manage patient discharge with appropriate follow-up planning and education.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Orthopedics Advanced Practice Provider at St. Anthony North Hospital, you will serve as a multifaceted clinical leader, blending patient care with administrative responsibilities.

Every day you will balance essential inpatient rounding with a dynamic set of responsibilities that extend beyond the bedside. In this role, you will lead classroom teaching sessions, manage complex schedule coordination, and serve on hospital committees.. You will be free from any surgical responsibilities and work with all orthopedic groups at St. Anthony North Hospital. Your schedule is a flexible Monday 6 Friday arrangement with no call requirements, allowing you to manage your diverse portfolio of duties while maintaining an exceptional work-life balance in a supportive, professional environment.

  • Performs clinical examinations as necessary for inpatients.
  • Writes orders and prescriptions.

  • Assesses patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Manages the discharge of patients with appropriate disposition, follow-up planning, adjunctive therapy management, and education.
Job Requirements

Required:

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Masters degree in nursing as Nurse PractitionerRegistered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the Colorado Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registryrequired. Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or subspecialty required.
  • RN License required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association required
  • Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan

Physician Assistant:

  • Masters graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required
  • PA Certification by N.C.C.P.A. and current mid-level provider license by the state of Colorado required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association may be required

Preferred:

  • Two or more years prior experience in Orthopedic Surgery/Orthopedics
