Full Job Description
Akicita Federal is hiring Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to deliver direct inpatient care to adult patients served by the Indian Health Service in Chinle, Arizona. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in an underserved community while working within a dedicated Adult Care Unit team in the heart of the Navajo Nation.

- Provide comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, and direct bedside care to adult inpatient populations in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.

- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with established clinical protocols and provider orders.

- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and clinical progress, escalating concerns to the care team promptly and accurately.

- Coordinate care transitions, discharge planning, and patient education to support safe, continuous care throughout the patient's stay.

- Respond to cardiac and medical emergencies using ACLS and BLS protocols, functioning as a reliable member of the rapid-response team.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members-including physicians, specialists, and support staff-to develop and execute individualized patient care plans.

- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.

$166,400 - $176,800 a year

- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice (compact or Arizona licensure accepted).

- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - must be maintained throughout employment.

- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - must be maintained throughout employment.

- Any unit-specific certifications required by the Adult Care Unit at time of placement.

- Demonstrated experience in a medical-surgical or adult inpatient care setting sufficient to practice independently without direct supervision.

- Copy of nursing degree and official transcript available for submission upon request.
