Full Job Description
About the Role

As our Innovation Product Designer, you'll join as an early design hire and own end-to-end design across the platform. You'll work directly alongside the Head of Design to shape how financial services users interact with data integrations and transformations - designing interfaces that make complex workflows feel approachable and building the visual trust that enterprise customers require.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You'll take features from discovery through high-fidelity Figma deliverables to implementation support - running your own user research, contributing to the design system, and collaborating directly with engineers on what ships. Financial services users are experienced, detail-oriented, and skeptical of tools that look good but don't work. The bar for craft is high.

Responsibilities

Product Design
  • Own end-to-end design for product features - research and ideation through high-fidelity design and implementation support
  • Design intuitive interfaces for integration configuration, transformation building, workflow monitoring, and results exploration
  • Create clear UX for communicating AI outputs - confidence levels, transformation previews, and error states that help users build appropriate trust in AI-generated results
  • A fierce defender of user needs and the jobs to be done, all while making high-judgment UX tradeoffs - especially around AI interaction patterns, information density, and user types.
  • Contribute to and maintain the design system in Figma - components, tokens, and patterns

AI-Specific UX
  • Design interaction patterns for AI-assisted transformation building - streaming outputs, accept/reject/edit flows, and progressive disclosure of complex results
  • Handle the unique challenge of designing for non-deterministic AI outputs - where the same input may produce different results each time
  • Design feedback mechanisms that capture user corrections and improve AI quality over time

Data-Intensive Interfaces
  • Design for complex, data-dense environments - integration configuration screens, transformation preview panes, execution monitoring dashboards, and audit log views
  • Balance information density with clarity - our users need depth, but the interface should never feel overwhelming

Research & Collaboration
  • Plan and conduct usability tests and user interviews with financial services personas; synthesize findings into design decisions
  • Work directly with engineers and the Technical Product Manager to ensure design quality through to production
  • Flag technical feasibility issues early in the design process; prototype in code when needed

Requirements

Experience
  • 5+ years professional product design
  • Has designed features end-to-end for web applications in production

Portfolio (Required)
  • Must demonstrate end-to-end design for complex web applications
  • B2B, data-heavy, or workflow products are the highest signal - consumer-only portfolios are a weak fit
  • Must show both interaction design quality and visual design craft

Technical & Design Skills
  • Expert Figma proficiency - components, variables, auto-layout, prototyping; produces high-fidelity, handoff-ready deliverables independently
  • Strong interaction design - thinks in flows, states, and edge cases
  • Strong visual design sensibility - typography, spacing, color, and information hierarchy
  • User research skills - can plan and run usability tests and user interviews independently
  • Technical fluency - can communicate with engineers about implementation details and flag constraints early

Nice to Have
  • Financial services, fintech, or data platform design background
  • Experience designing data visualization, dashboards, or analytics interfaces
  • AI or ML product design experience - familiarity with streaming interfaces, confidence indicators, and human-AI interaction patterns
  • Ability to prototype in code (HTML/CSS, Angular, or similar)
  • Experience with motion and interaction design for complex state transitions
  • Startup experience as an early or founding designer
