Job Title: Innovation Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise of DoW-funded RDT&E programs.

  • Write white papers (with peer teams), submit concept proposals, and form partnerships through funding and research and development groups with similar technical interests.

  • Research scientific concepts, technology projects, and innovative ideas in line with Command priorities.

  • Identify emerging and future technologies that fill gaps in Command requirements.

  • Engage Government entities, federally funded research development centers, university-affiliated research centers, academia, and industry to find R&D projects to support Command technology and innovation initiatives.

  • Conduct analysis of alternatives for strategic development and operational planning, as well as in response to evolving Federal and DoD security standards.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of new technology to support the Command’s information objectives.

  • Supervise personnel and provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments including receiving and scoping Command requirements.

  • Travel, and when directed, represent mission demands at relevant military, academic and industry conferences to identify emerging technology for consideration.

  • Provide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission-critical challenges/issues.

  • Work with customer to coordinate, schedule, and prioritize technology and innovation initiatives and their outputs.

  • Analyze, assess and report outcomes from technology and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required

  • TS Clearance w/SCI eligibility

  • Master's degree in relevant technical field (Bachelor’s acceptable with 10 years experience)

  • 7 years experience in defense technology  or related field with focus on identification and integration of existing or emerging technology into experimentation, exercises, and operational use

  • Familiarity with processes and practices for integration of FFRDC, UARCs, and broader academia with DoW

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience with exercise and experimentation development

  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities

  • Experience working at CCMD, Service Component, Joint Task Force or similar level integrating existing and/or emerging technology into command exercises, experimentation and operational use

  • Expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Autonomous Systems and/or Human-Machine Teaming

  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
