Innovation Analyst to join our
Acquisition Pathways PMO, helping evolve how HII MTC identifies, shapes, and captures work through a commercial first approach to federal procurement. This role serves as a catalyst for modernizing how we productize our capabilities and leverage traditional and non traditional acquisition pathways, including Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicles, Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) solicitations, and Other Transaction (OT) agreements, to accelerate growth. The successful incumbent will also serve as the Deputy Program Manager for a large traditional IDIQ program.
The Innovation Analyst will connect emerging technologies, commercial business models, and creative acquisition strategies to drive competitive advantage. You will help the organization anticipate acquisition trends, craft differentiated solution strategies, and streamline how we communicate value to customers across the federal landscape.
This role requires a mix of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, creativity, and hands on execution. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and able to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable insights for executives and cross-functional teams.
The position is in Fairfax, VA.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor federal solicitations and innovation channels to provide timely opportunities to BD and capture teams
- Identify trends across IDIQ, CSO, and OT activity to support early shaping and smarter decision-making
- Help develop and refine productized service offerings for repeatability, scalability, and commercial alignment
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that expand modern procurement approaches and internal innovation acquisition models
- Support capture teams with innovative technical, pricing, and competitive strategies
- Work with business development (BD), engineering, and delivery teams to build prototypes, pilots, and differentiated solution concepts
- Manage a customer-facing website featuring productized offerings, for example Statements of Work, and other ready-made materials for potential federal customers
- Maintain knowledge libraries and content repositories to speed development of high-quality proposals
- Track the impact of innovation initiatives and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership
- Lead lessons-learned activities and support continuous improvement in contract and vehicle management
- Use AI tools to streamline workflows while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality
What you need to have:- 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience
- 5+ years in federal contracting, BD, strategy, or innovation with direct procurement exposure
- Experience supporting Department of War, Intelligence Community, or other high priority federal customers, and familiarity with the business development lifecycle phases
- Proven contributions to captures using innovative or non traditional acquisition pathways
- Understanding of commercial business models and go to market strategies
- Experience with FAR Part 12 commercial-item acquisitions and hands-on experience applying OT and CSO non-traditional acquisition methods in a federal or DoW context
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross functional teams
- Familiarity with federal market research and competitive intelligence tools
- Advanced analytical and data visualization skills
- Excellent writing and presentation abilities
- Proficiency in SharePoint, Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
