SPONSORSHIP: Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g., H-1B visa) for this opportunity.ResponsibilitiesOur team supports the Linux and Oracle Exa CC infrastructure on which the vendor application (billing) provides the modernized billing solution for State Farm.
Your responsibilities include:
• Work with a vendor to scale and improve the Oracle Exadata database and its applications.
• Help align the current and future database/data architecture with Billing and Payments goals.
• Support vendor testing and evaluation of database performance changes (risk, monitoring, validation).
• Troubleshoot and recommend fixes for database performance issues.
• Provide ongoing maintenance support for the life of the database.
• Coordinate with other teams on proper database access and usage patterns.
• Act as a "thought leader" to support data-driven decisions that match long-term goals.
• Ensure the database stays compliant with internal standards and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Assist the team with capacity planning
• Be in on call (during and after business hours) to support the infrastructure the vendor product is deployed on
• Support both the application servers, service utilities and database the vendor application is installed upon
Qualifications• 3+ years of experience with Oracle databases.
• Hands-on knowledge of database tools, including but limited to SQL Developer, OEM, TOAD, DB Artisan (and similar).
• Experience working with vendors to deliver results.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and keep learning.
• Linux administration background
• Preferred: experience with application performance tools (e.g., Dynatrace, LRE).
• Knowledge of AWR's and other Oracle performance monitoring tools

- Potential starting salary range: $66,500 - $130,000 starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
