The expected hiring range for this position is:
$79,300.00-$104,400.00.

About the Role:

Fermilab is seeking an Infrastructure Manager who Under general supervision, oversee the Central Facilities Management Program for assigned/designated buildings. Coordinate personnel and outside services to performs multi-trade task management of moderately complex contracted projects and services to completion. Prepares and submits the annual capital asset replacement programs for assigned buildings.

What your day-to-day as anInfrastructure Manager will look like:
  • Assuming responsibility for the efficient and safe operation of all building related systems.
  • Developing moderately complex facility specific procurement packages.
  • Reviewing outside contracts proposals and selects appropriate contractors/vendors.
  • Performing multi-trade task management oversight of contracts through completion.
  • Conducting inspections, documents facility condition assessment and ensures the timely compliance of ESH&Q regulations and compliance programs.
  • Verifying and ensuring the monitoring of equipment and building areas such as HVAC, boiler systems, chillers, compressors, roof systems, and janitorial services.
  • Coordinating with Tenant Liaisons to ensure all facilities maintenance and operational service needs are satisfied.
  • Developing facility policies for building tenants; creating detailed procedures for complex work projects and building equipment.
  • Responding to weekend and after-hours calls to ensure reactionary repairs are addressed.
  • Maintaining operational and capital equipment budgets. Generating budgetary reports.
  • Ensuring contractors and service providers are appropriately trained, with supporting documentation, to provide required services in an efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Ensuring all maintenance service requests are documented in CMMS system. Monitoring backlog and working to improve overall response.
  • Conducting inspections and documenting condition assessment of assigned buildings.
  • You will be responsible for providing, updating, and validating data associated with Real Property.
  • You will develop and report on metrics relative to facility condition, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. You will report Service Improvement Plan (SIP) annually to tenants.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Abiding by and being responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.


Essential Competencies and Attributes for Success:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in related field of Property Management, Facilities Management or Maintenance
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience
  • OHSA 10 Construction preferred and/or willing to obtain.


Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Competencies in alignment with Federal Buildings Personnel Training act for Facilities Managers. Proficiency in operation of computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of building mechanicals, building automation, electrical, fire systems, and plumbing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent customer service relations with building occupants.
  • IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP) or IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) preferred.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time and move safely over uneven terrain when necessary.
  • Proficiency in operation of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), work order applications, and preventative maintenance systems.
