As a key member of the IT team, this role bridges day-to-day operations and longer-term infrastructure initiatives-supporting both immediate needs and the continued strengthening of our technical foundation.
What You'll DoThe Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for administering and supporting core infrastructure systems across on-premises and cloud environments. This includes managing servers, virtualization platforms, backups, and security controls, as well as troubleshooting issues and supporting system improvements.
This role works closely with IT team members to resolve escalations, maintain system health, and implement updates that enhance performance, security, and reliability.
In this role, you will:
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and related services
- Manage virtualization platforms and cloud infrastructure
- Oversee storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems to ensure business continuity
- Maintain and support Windows desktop environments, including OS deployment and patching
- Implement and manage security controls, policies, and best practices
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents
- Ensure timely application of patches, updates, and remediation efforts
- Support compliance efforts through documentation, audits, and controls monitoring
- Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
- Lead or support troubleshooting and resolution of outages and service disruptions
- Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-based systems and hybrid environments
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and cost-effective use of resources
- Automate provisioning and configuration where appropriate
- Develop and maintain clear system documentation, procedures, and configurations
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and security
- Establish and maintain infrastructure standards to ensure system compatibility and stability
- Provide on-call support for after-hours incidents
What You'll Need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, virtualization platforms, cloud platforms, Windows desktop support and lifecycle management
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability systems
- Experience with scripting/automation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues under pressure
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
- Security-focused mindset with experience implementing controls and hardening systems
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
- Calm and effective response during outages or high-impact incidents
- Ownership mindset with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document and explain technical concepts
