Job Description:

Caterpillar is seeking an IT Leader to manage the AWS Platform Services team, as a part of the Enterprise Cloud Adoption team within Global Information Services. In this role, you will coach, guide and facilitate the continued growth of a diverse technical work group to develop collaborative relationships among themselves, with business partners, suppliers and other multiple other information technology groups to ensure goals are achieved. You will evolve and maintain an organizational climate / culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement / commitment and a sense of urgency towards business success. You will continually learn and stay abreast of rapidly changing cloud technologies, drive innovation, mentor and coach people inside and outside your work group and deepen your professional network.

What You Will Do:
  • Being an advocate for cloud technologies
  • Maintaining established cybersecurity and compliance controls for AWS technologies
  • Own delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable AWS solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business priorities
  • Direct platform operations, governance, security and vulnerability management, and automation across enterprise AWS environments
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, application, and business partners on incident response, risk reduction, and delivery of strategic cloud initiatives
  • Drive cost optimization, operational efficiency, and process improvement through automation, reporting, and standardized cloud management practices
  • Manage and mentor a diverse global team, leading workforce planning, talent development, and workstream prioritization to meet evolving enterprise needs
  • Being technically engaged to guide team to make crucial technical decisions in relation to product, processes, tools, and technologies


What You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and delivering results within complex, enterprise-scale IT environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams, highly skilled technical resources, or large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with the ability to guide technical and business resources toward successful outcomes.


Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Demonstrated quick and clear decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated strong people management skills, with a focus on developing others
  • Previous experience with IT Architecture or Cybersecurity
  • Foundational cloud certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, GCP Cloud Digital Leader)
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills and business acumen
  • Able to communicate technical information effectively with management, your work group, as well employees in other business units and suppliers.
  • Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders.
  • An enjoyment for significant challenges, change management, and being held accountable to produce quantifiable results.
  • Adaptability and a passion for change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, as well a strong ability to influence others both in and out of the department
  • Competency in customer focus, change management & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
