Full Job Description
Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time position in Lexington, Kentucky:
Information Technology Manager and Lead Systems Administrator

The individual selected for this role will manage information technology systems and staff to ensure security, excellent internal and external user experiences, and greater organizational impact.

Our ideal Candidate will:
Manage and oversee IT systems and security, ensuring operational excellence and services that are reliable and redundant.

Administrate and enforce security practices to prevent and mitigate breaches, viruses, malware, and other intrusions. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues and escalated incidents.

Administrate installations, security, operations, and maintenance of IT systems, including all infrastructure components, hardware and software, virtual environments, routers, firewalls, data switches, hubs, cabling, VPNs, KVMs, circuits to the internet, video streaming, and other network components.

Administrate Active Directory, servers, Office 365 and its components, IDS systems, data backup systems, cloud-based infrastructure, website servers, Linux environments, IP phone systems, security cameras and access systems, and other IT systems.

Monitor, troubleshoot, evaluate and resolve complex issues. Respond to and solve escalated incidents.

Liaison with broadcast/transmissions engineers, web developers, and production staff to enhance network efficiencies, improve workflows, and solve problems.

Administrate asset management systems and maintain records of IT deployments, hardware refreshes, maintenance, IP addressing, standard operating procedures, system documentation, password management systems, software/firmware releases, and IT policies.

Administrate end-user deployment, support, and training for PC and Mac devices. Administrate help-desk workflow to solve internal user issues.

Participate in technical training and research to enable continuous improvement, innovation, and maximized up-time for on-site and off-site staff, vendors, and partners. Help ensure that technology solutions align with organizational objectives, industry standards, technology resources, and applicable statutes and regulations.

Effectively lead, coach and mentor team. Carry out supervisory duties including participating in hiring, training, planning, and directing work for staff, reviewing job descriptions as scheduled in order to provide performance oversight and timely feedback to staff, resolving issues, and monitoring attendance and leave requests in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws.

Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Administration or a relevant field and 7+ years of hands-on experience in relevant technical areas, including 3+ years of experience managing people; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Expertise with network administration and security, business IT systems, enterprise data management, and cloud technologies are required.

Proven experience that can readily be deployed in supporting Fabric switching, VMware, Active Directory, Microsoft Server and Office products, cloud services, SaaS, infrastructure systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Be efficient, creative and positive.

Ability to collaborate, meet deadlines, and deliver on strategic goals, especially during complex and challenging situations. Strong organizational, writing, and verbal skills - along with effective, professional interpersonal communications capacities for the technical and non-technical - are required.

Moderate physical activity is required, including climbing ladders, handling of average-weight objects up to 70 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Must be available on a flexible schedule and for weekend and overnight travel. Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance always.
