Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking a IT Support Lead to oversee cybersecurity, network security, and IT operations supporting military information systems. The ideal candidate possesses advanced cybersecurity certifications, extensive supervisory experience, and proven expertise in managing complex datacenter environments. This role ensures secure and reliable IT infrastructure in compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, frameworks, and standards.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's cybersecurity program in alignment with DoD policies and industry best practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessments and establish mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of security controls across all information systems.
  • Manage and respond to security incidents, coordinating containment, investigation, and remediation actions.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with applicable cybersecurity laws, regulations, frameworks, and DoD guidance.
  • Provide cybersecurity guidance, direction, and training to staff and stakeholders.
  • Lead and supervise technical teams responsible for military information systems, ensuring effective task delegation and performance oversight.
  • Manage security-related projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with leadership and system owners to ensure protection of information, networks, applications, and data.
  • Oversee planning, deployment, and maintenance of complex datacenter environments, including server virtualization, network infrastructure, and storage systems.
  • Monitor network and system security architecture, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and exercises.
  • Maintain required professional certifications and complete 20+ hours of annual Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and updates related to cybersecurity controls, incidents, and compliance activities.


Requirement:

  • Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field
  • OR Associate degree in an IT-related field with ten years of IT Lead experience


Special Skills/Qualifications Required:
  • Current certification meeting DCWF Information Systems Security Manager (722) requirements at Intermediate or Advanced proficiency (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
  • Minimum of 20 hours of annual CPD
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in the following areas:
  • Cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • National/international cybersecurity laws and regulations
  • Network security architecture and technologies
  • Security incident response procedures
  • Vulnerability management and penetration testing methodologies
  • Security assessment and authorization processes
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Security awareness training
  • DoD cybersecurity policies and guidance


Minimal Background/Experience Required:
  • Minimum four years of supervisory experience managing technical teams supporting military information systems
  • Experience in program management, including task delegation and personnel development
  • Experience overseeing planning, implementation, and maintenance of complex datacenter environments
