The role:

Bring your management experience to our team as our IT project manager! You will be a senior level contributor leading and supporting various strategic projects and initiatives that align directly with agency goals. You will also independently provide portfolio reporting and project guidance and assist managers in strategic planning. Apply today!

A day in the life:
  • Manage multiple information technology projects from start to finish.
  • Create detailed project schedules with timelines, tasks, resources and cost.
  • Author key project artifacts such as charters, scope statements, risk and issue logs and project management plans.
  • Track and monitor project team tasks and progress.
  • Identify and manage project risks and resolve issues.
  • Ensure projects follow established processes and oversight requirements.
  • Provide clear verbal and written status updates to leadership and steering committees.
  • Handle contract tasks, including writing statements of work and reviewing invoices.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule or budget using approval procedures.
  • Review work from team members and contractors to ensure quality results.
  • Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available - in office work will be occasional and based on business needs.

Minimum qualifications:

Six (6) years' of information systems experience in: project delivery of software application projects.

OR

An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field.

AND

Four (4) years of information systems experience in: project delivery of software application projects.

OR

A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: project delivery of software application projects.

OR

Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

What we'd like to see:

  • Experience with systems and application development project management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale application service modernization projects with large and complex datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with and gathering information from multiple team members to decompose critical project activities into a work breakdown structure using Microsoft Project or similar project planning tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., emails, status reports, project documentation) and experience articulating complex concepts clearly to internal and external partners using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • PROSCI or similar change management credential preferred.
  • Demonstrated successful delivery of projects using Agile, Iterative or Waterfall approaches.
