Job Title: Information Systems Technician II - Security Operations
Division: Information Security

Location: 501 S 2nd St, Springfield, IL - Sangamon County
Salary: Range $5,992 to $11,392 monthly - commensurate with experience

Overview:

Maintains security focused solutions, both stand-alone and Software as a Service (SaaS) within the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State by providing installation, configuration, training, diagnostic and administrative support for the effective utilization of these solutions. Provides setup, configuration and maintenance of both on-premises and cloud-based security solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the setup, configuration and provides routine maintenance of security systems.
  • Maintains documentation of information systems security controls.
  • Performs routine system testing against security risks.
  • Completes necessary education, training and certifications to stay abreast of latest technologies affecting Illinois Secretary of State information security.
  • Travels as necessary for education and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of 1 year of college, with coursework in the computer science field OR 1.5 years of technical systems and programming experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires working knowledge of the principles and techniques of computer system documentation.
  • Requires willingness to travel and possession of a valid Illinois driver's license as required by individual positions within the class.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, and push/pull 0 - 50lbs.
