The PositionThis recruitment is being conducted to fill two (2) full-time vacancies for the classification of Information Systems Specialist, which may be filled at the II or Senior, level depending on the qualifications, for the Network Operations Team at the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division, a branch of the County Executive Office, at Napa County. The eligibility list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.About Information Technology Services at Napa County:Napa County Information Technology Services (ITS) is a branch of the County Executive Office that provides technology services and solutions to all County departments, as well as a range of technology services to five special districts within the County. About the Position for Network Operations:- Pay Range for Information Systems Specialist II: $51.45 per hour (Step 1) - $61.61 per hour (Step 5)
- Pay Range for Senior Information Systems Specialist: $57.54 per hour (Step 1) - $68.94 per hour (Step 5)
- 3.5% COLA increase effective 7/01/2026
The current vacancies are for the Networks Operations Team. The Napa County NetOps team is a collaborative group focused on securing and maintaining the critical backbone of the organization's infrastructure. We are seeking a proactive, solutions-oriented IT professional with a "security-first" mindset and strong experience in enterprise networking, including routing, switching, virtualization and firewall management. The ideal candidate will take ownership of complex troubleshooting and project management, will thrive in a team orientated environment that works a hybrid schedule, and will value cross-training and knowledge-sharing that contribute to the overall success and strength of the team.
Position Requirements:To qualify for theInfo Systems Specialist II/Senior Information Systems Specialist classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:
- Information Systems Specialist II Experience: Two years of programming, systems, and/or Web design and development experience in a governmental or business operation.
- Senior Information Systems Specialist Experience: Three years of programming and/or systems experience in governmental or business operation.
- Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with major course work in data processing, computer science, graphic design, or a closely related field, and minor course work in business principles. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- License or Certificate:* A position assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.
*Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
