Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an Information Systems Security Specialist for our Waterford, CT office.
What you will be doing:
- Assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in the planning, organization, maintenance and compliance of classified systems in accordance with NISPOM, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and DCSA Assessment & Authorization Guide.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to classified IS including adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices. Troubleshoot systems as necessary.
- Mitigate vulnerabilities on information systems to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures while reporting any discrepancies to the ISSM, ISSO and/or FSO.
- Manage/schedule IS patching, updating, and scanning based on vulnerabilities and threats or regulatory compliance; maintain the day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring for all systems.
- Manage user access and support user technical requirements.
- Assist with information systems incident response.

Required qualifications:
- Associates degree (or Higher) in an Information Technology-related field; or three years of relevant information systems security experience.
- Experience maintaining information system technology (i.e., Windows, Linux, etc.)
- Must have, or be able to obtain, Security+ or equivalent certifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*
Preferred, but not required, experience in the following:
- Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
- Hold a current DOD Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) Level I (or higher) IAT certification(s) (g., GSEC, Network+, Security+, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, GCIH, CGED, CISSP, CASP)
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Experience with administration and maintenance of DoD Classified Information Systems.
- Experience with DISA STIGs
- Experience with ACAS/Tenable Nessus
- Experience with Cisco network devices
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.
*Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check.
