RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance may be available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: Yes CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time Position Overview: In this role, you are responsible for oversight of all aspects of the GMD Communications Network (GCN) maintenance scheduling, technical guidance for any anomalies. Additionally responsible for primary co-ordination with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) personnel in support of the global network infrastructure. JobResponsibilities: - You will be required to support daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities on the GMD Communications Network (GCN) equipment, as well as on-call directed maintenance to effect repair of anomalous conditions. - Responsibilities will also include acting as site test conductor for test support activities, support on-console test support functions, perform asset cutovers in support of real-world and test events. - Manage internal as well as customer deliverables, assist building charts to brief leadership, interface with the customer supporting site operations and deconfliction of major events, - Candidate will be expected to support process development and improvement. - Collaboration and teambuilding across multiple program IPTs, sub-contractors, and extensive customer interface. Additional Responsibilities - Act as site lead for a small team of network engineers. - Routinely interface with GMD leadership, government customer, and industry partners to schedule and perform required maintenance actions as well as resolve anomalies, document and perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance procedures. - Maintain GMD assets in a manner of system availability over 99% to the customer. - Provides performance evaluation input for team member and sub-contractor evaluations, property control, facility, safety, security and daily production and directs the work of employees assigned from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas related to the GCN equipment. - Track and report maintenance anomalies and associated metrics. - Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, CSU/DSUs, firewalls, KIVs, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. - Support customer site visits and provide briefings on upgrades and obsolescence issues. - Attend site and program specific meetings, develop slides, charts, and white papers for decision making as needed. - Mentor and train junior team members for GMD GCN and Network Operations certification. - Perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in GCN operations and procedures for LSM console operators. - Support and assist with training on-duty console operators with initial troubleshooting assistance, review of operator checklists and procedures and coordination with external assets. - Support the Ground Systems (GS) products hardware / software integration, upgrades and repair requirements. - Conduct software patching and anti-virus updates according to contract and SOW requirements. - Occasional shift work, including holidays and weekends as necessary. - Regular 7 x 24 on call will be required. - Occasional international travel will be required. Basic Qualifications – To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below. - Bachelor’s Degree in a technical Engineering or related discipline with 12 years of related experience. 16 years of GMD specific experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. - 8+ years of Network Engineering experience. - 4 years of leadership as a technical lead or related team leadership role or 2 years’ experience as a manager in a related discipline - DOD Top Secret clearance with an ability to obtain COMSEC and SCI clearances. - IAT Level 2 certification (CompTIA Security+ and/or CISSP) - Knowledge of local area networking (LAN) fundamentals with specific experience working with CISCO Ethernet routers, switches and protocols in TCP-IP based communications systems. - Experience with UNIX/LINUX command line interface - Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and ability to work unsupervised at remote sites with a diverse group. - Ability to work effectively and lead a small team. - Ability/willing to be available on call for mission critical system responses when required. Preferred Qualifications - 9+ years of GMD experience. - GMD GCN certification - GMD Fire Control (GFC) certification - GMD Network Operations certification - Familiarity with Boeing GMD Training System. - CISCO Router/Switch specific experience and familiarity with associated maintenance actions/approaches - Experience with OSPF and Multicast routing protocol - Experience with Intelligent Path Switching (IPS) devices. - Experience with HP OpenView product - Understanding of KIV-19 A/M operations - Experience working with Sun Solaris platforms. - Experience working with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) and related circuit monitoring and repair processes. - Experience with VMWare and next generation CISCO and encryption technology - Knowledge of military command, control, and communication systems. - Strong communications skills. - Knowledge of maintenance, logistics, and MMICS database desired. - Team player Primary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
