POSITION SUMMARY:

Apply and blend interpersonal communication and IT experience to a high degree. Collaborative individual contributor who works independently and with teams to design, build, and support complex, innovative network, and security systems in IT. Successful IT Solutions Consultants apply existing knowledge and skills while simultaneously and continuously innovating and developing new knowledge and skills. IT Solutions Consultants commonly make the difference in helping customers overcome difficult problems and challenges where others have historically failed. IT Solutions Consultants are systems thinkers who seek to understand problems holistically based on a limited initial data set and then take an organized and planful approach to fully addressing those problems.

Work with internal and external customers from all levels of organizations in person, verbally, and electronically, utilizing a wide variety of mediums and tools in support of messaging. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Deliver Professional Services in the design, development, implementation, and support of full-stack network and security systems and solutions, individually and with project teams
  • Provide scheduled and ad hoc support to SynerComm customers across a broad range of network and security technologies and products.
  • Obtain and maintain associate, professional, and expert level technical certifications.
  • Sets up and maintains demonstration equipment and labs for SynerComm's physical and virtual networking and security solutions
  • Develop effective solution documentation and presents to, and/or trains technical resources
  • Supports Sales in technical discussions, Labs, POCs, recommended architectures with customers
  • Engages accounts on technical and solution scoping discussions


Requirements

Education/Training/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience (as determined by SynerComm)
  • 7+ years' experience working in the Service Provider industry or Large Enterprise environments
  • 5+ years' experience working with security control solutions
  • Network and Security Certifications (e.g., Juniper, HPE, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco), or equivalent experience in core network and security infrastructure and operations development and support (as determined by SynerComm)

Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities:
  • Experience supporting security programs or audits based on the CIS CSC, NIST 800-53, or other security frameworks
  • Experience selecting, implementing, and operating security controls for network infrastructure, endpoint, email, identity, data, and other
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML, and other identity and access management elements
  • Experience building and managing physical and virtual server environments
  • Experience with network infrastructure including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and Internet
  • Experience with network operations, administration, and maintenance
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management
  • Experience implementing, managing, or supporting cloud services in AWS or Azure
  • Experience with scripting or coding automation in deployment, data collection, or system operation
  • Experience with incident response, threat hunting, or security operations
  • Demonstrated history of self-driven, just-in-time skills development and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated history of full-lifecycle management of information technologies and domains
  • Experience working as a lead technical project team member or technical project manager
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with audiences of all sizes and make-ups
  • Ability to translate technical features and benefits into business value propositions
  • Ability to work well individually, as a team member and as a team leader
  • Professional attitude in support of continuous improvement activities
