The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Information Security Manager in the IT Department.
Under supervision of Chief Information Security Officer, the Information Security Manager will play a critical part in protecting our organization by monitoring security operations. This position will lead and coordinate real-time threat detection and incident response activities, actively participating in frontline security operations while ensuring timely triage, escalation, and remediation of security events. This position will also help gather threat intelligence and develop reports that inform and guide executive decisions.
The duties of this position include but are not limited to: Support the CISO in ensuring execution of security procedures and reporting related security incidents; Conduct monthly and quarterly testing of duress, wellness, and assist alarms; Manage and monitor various systems, review incident reports, and conduct quarterly audits of IT and OT devices; Monitor local news and media outlets for events or incidents that could affect the City of Aurora's operations and escalate as necessary; Manage security applications and triage alerts; Monitor and dispatch to key members as needed to respond to incidents or service requests; Investigate and resolve incidents to contain and remove security threats; Respond to emergencies and report any breaches or deviations from established security or safety protocols; Create and continue to develop cases using threat intelligence information and lessons learned as a result of any incidents and alerts; Understand operational KPIs and ability to utilize data to assist CISO to drive operations; Other related duties as assigned.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. This position also requires at least five (5) years of professional experience in a center/security dispatch environment. Must have the ability to be on call and respond on nights and weekends as needed. Must have a thorough understanding of networking and security operations. IT and related cybersecurity and networking certifications (Security +, CISSP, etc.) are preferred.
Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug screen, and background check.
This is a full-time, executive position. The salary range is $98,696.00 - $132,620.20 with starting rate dependent on experience and qualifications, but in most cases is no higher than the midpoint of the range.
