Job Description
This position will be based in Ashburn, VA.
We are actively seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Information Assurance Professional to join our team in a dynamic Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As a Journeyman Information Assurance Professional, you will be a key player in ensuring the security and compliance of our information systems. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the cybersecurity efforts within the framework of the DoD.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
o Oversee the implementation of security controls to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and standards.
o Lead the development and execution of Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to address identified vulnerabilities and shortcomings.
Cybersecurity Tools:
o Expertise in the utilization and management of critical DoD cybersecurity tools, including:
o Host-Based Security System (HBSS) for comprehensive endpoint security.
o Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability assessment and configuration management.
o Implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for system hardening.
eMASS and Documentation:
o Utilize the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for efficient management of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and documentation.
o Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date cybersecurity documentation and artifacts.
Incident Response:
o Lead and participate in incident response activities, including the identification, containment, eradication, and recovery phases of security incidents.
o Contribute to the development and refinement of incident response plans.
Training and Mentorship:
o Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
o Contribute to the development and delivery of cybersecurity training programs.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and senior cybersecurity professionals to address complex cybersecurity challenges.
o Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to provide updates on cybersecurity initiatives and projects.
Incident Response and Threat Management:
o Support incident response efforts in the event of a cybersecurity incident or breach.
o Contribute to incident response plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
o Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate emerging risks.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in information assurance roles within a DoD environment.
• DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certifications for IAT Level III (CISSP, CASP+)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) is a plus
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
