Responsibilities*
  • 35% Direct supervision over Infection Preventionists including all subordinate staff activities related to Infection Preventionist human resource management (hiring, promotion, salary changes, performance coaching, disciplinary actions, training and development. Makes decisions and provides direction to team members that support the goals and objectives established by the department director.
  • 20% Assist with project management of Healthcare Associated Conditions (HACs) across the institution. Provide support with leading meetings, infection outcome monitoring, HAC goal development and progress tracking, infection surveillance, and development of educational programs.
  • 15% Oversee development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures as well as guide development of Clinical Enterprise policies.
  • 15% Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain compliance with regulatory standards (such as CMS and OSHA/MIOSHA) as well as accreditation standards (The Joint Commission IC Chapter). This includes conducting infection prevention risk assessments and compliance audits as well as developing action plans and educational resources.
  • 10% Maintain current knowledge of Infection Prevention literature, guidelines and accreditation and regulatory standards as they related to Infection Prevention. Prepare period reports (present summary data, risk assessments, etc.)
  • 5% Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*
  • Ability to reliably attend virtual and in person meetings.
  • Master Degree, preferably in health sciences or public health
  • Board Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising people, teams or projects
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of infection prevention & epidemiology
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written presentations
