Job Title: Industry Product Manager Division: Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)

FLSA: Exempt Grade: N/A

Job Status: Full Time Travel Required: 0-40%

Revision Date: May 2026 Reports To: Director of Field Engineering

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Product Manager develops and executes product strategy, manages the full product lifecycle, and drives the growth, profitability, and competitiveness of the assigned product category. This role turns customer and market insights into strategic priorities, leads cross-functional product planning and execution, and aligns business goals with customer needs and operational capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties listed below are typical for this role and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Product Marketing Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a product strategy aligned with company goals and market needs by analyzing customer trends, identifying new opportunities, and prioritizing product features and benefits.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity, and use those insights to guide product decisions.
  • Product Development: Partner with R&D, Manufacturing and Engineering to develop product concepts, specifications, and design plans, and support business cases for new programs.
  • Project Management: Lead product development and promotion initiatives by setting timelines, coordinating resources, and keeping projects on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with quality teams to ensure products meet established quality standards.
  • Production Planning: Lead forecasting for new and existing products, coordinate with manufacturing, and improve production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering to support successful product launches, including pricing, promotion, inventory, and distribution plans.
  • Product Promotion: Plan and execute product launches and promotional efforts, including marketing campaigns, sales training, customer support initiatives, and participation in industry associations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track product performance, gather customer feedback, and make adjustments to support sales and profitability goals. Manage pricing levels through the product lifecycle, ensuring growth and profitability as products mature.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Complete related assignments in other areas as needed.
  • Attendance: Maintain regular and consistent attendance.

  • Proven experience in product management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE - COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in business, engineering or related field from a four-year college or university and/or
  • Five to eight years' related experience and/or training;
  • Or equivalent combination of education or experience.
