Job DescriptionThe Industrial Security Specialist II is an Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) that develops, implements, and administers security procedures on the Department of Defense (DoD), and other U.S. Government agency security requirements. Responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for information systems and as such, works in close collaboration with the FSO, ISSM, and or Local, and Corporate Security Management. Ensures compliance with DOD 5200.22-M - Defense Industrial Security Program, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Frontgrade security policies and procedures and physical security programs. The AFSO is a self-starter who works independently with little guidance.
Responsibilities- Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package
- Apply current computer science technologies to the development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security for classified information systems
- Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
- Ensure audit records are collected and reviewed
- Attend technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties
- Assist with investigations into security incidents and violations related to cleared information systems; reports such incidents and violations to ISSM/FSO/security lead ensures corrective actions are implemented
- Assist in conducting periodic self-inspections on local processes and practices to ensure NISP compliance; accurately reports security posture to site, group and corporate leadership
- Serves as Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO); must be fully capable of operating as the FSO in the FSO's absence
QualificationsExperience:
Minimum two (2) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (6) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree. OR No experience required in lieu of Masters Degree.Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security ClearanceExperience in either the defense industry or Information Systems Security, or a combination of both, and familiarity with NISS, DISS/NBIS, Security Information Management System (SIMS), and other applicable security applicationsAdditional Information This position may require access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition of any job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you may need to obtain a U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
