Summary

About the Position: The incumbent works under the general direction of the HQDA Chief of Staff Army, Army Special Programs Directorate, Washington, D.C.

Duties

Help

  • Conducts multi-functional security oversight and compliance inspections and staff-assistance visits (SAVs).
  • Provides continuing support and consultation to assure all supporting contractors are kept abreast of changes in industrial security requirements and associated guidelines.
  • Is delegated complete responsibility for planning, developing, overseeing, and evaluating the Army SAP Industrial Security Program.
  • Makes recommendations or exercises delegated authority to take appropriate measures to correct security deficiencies.

  • Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel may be required approximately 50% of the time.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes applying industrial security policies and procedures to support Special Access Programs (SAP) or other sensitive government programs, conducting security compliance inspections or staff assistance visits at government or contractor facilities, and assisting in the review of security plans, contract documents, or policy to ensure compliance with established security requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and implementing industrial security policies and procedures to provide oversight for Special Access Programs (SAPs), leading multi-functional security oversight inspections and investigations of contractor facilities to ensure compliance and mitigate security risks, and providing authoritative guidance and recommendations to senior leadership and program managers on complex security issues and requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12/13).

Education
