Full Job Description
Position Summary

Tacten is seeking a Rope Access Industrial Foreman with IRATA Level 2 or 3 certification to support our client site in Fort McMurray, AB.

As a key member of our team, you will lead crews in the safe and efficient execution of industrial rope access work at height. Leveraging your advanced rope access expertise and leadership experience, you will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with IRATA standards and site-specific safety requirements, mentor crew members, and deliver high-quality results for our clients.

Position Information:
  • Start date: August 2026
  • 14/14 rotation, 12-hour shifts
  • Candidates must be local to Fort McMurray, AB or willing to relocate


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, responding promptly to daily inquiries and coordinating site activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership, mentoring, training, and ongoing skills development to team members.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets and Field Level Risk Assessments, addressing deficiencies and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and IRATA standards.
  • Assist with the investigation and documentation of near misses, safety incidents, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Participate in internal and client-led safety, quality, and procedural audits.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by leading toolbox talks, reinforcing safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments, monitor project progress, and support the successful execution of site operations.
  • When required, perform hands-on rope access work to support operations in situations where qualified personnel are unavailable.


Requirements

  • IRATA Level 2 or Level 3 certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in an industrial rope access environment, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of rope access techniques, equipment and rescue procedures.
  • Ability to review and verify field documentation, including timesheets, safety paperwork, inspection records, and quality documentation.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while leading a team and maintaining accountability for project execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Additional industry certifications (e.g., CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO) are considered an asset.
