Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex industrial construction projects. The Project Manager is accountable for meeting Alberici and client expectations related to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and overall project performance, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, trade partners, consultants,
and project stakeholders.
The Project Manager leads the project from preconstruction and planning through construction, commissioning, closeout, and turnover, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, in accordance with contractual requirements, and to the standards expected by our industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead industrial construction projects from preconstruction through completion, commissioning, and turnover.
• Champion project safety and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, contracts, and overall project performance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities, including civil, structural,
mechanical, electrical, and process-related scopes.
• Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, equipment installation, procurement, and project logistics.
• Coordinate construction activities within active industrial facilities, including
shutdowns, outages, and tie-ins where required.
• Lead regular project meetings and maintain effective communication across project teams and stakeholders.
• Identify project risks, challenges, and changes and implement appropriate solutions.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular updates on project progress, schedule, cost, and emerging issues.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Support commissioning, start-up, closeout, and successful turnover to the client.
Qualifications & Experience
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management,
Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably within industrial construction.
• Experience delivering complex industrial projects within sectors such as advanced manufacturing, automotive/EV battery, food and beverage, energy, heavy industrial, semiconductor, or similar environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction project management, including safety, scheduling, cost control, quality, contracts, procurement, and risk management.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary scopes, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and client relationship
management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts,
schedules, and technical documentation.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, shutdowns,
outages, or facility tie-ins is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant construction/project management
software.
• P.Eng., Gold Seal Certification, PMP, or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
Work Environment
• Work is performed in a combination of office, project site, and active industrial environments.
• Regular site presence is required to support project execution, coordination, and client needs.
• May be exposed to typical construction and industrial site conditions, including noise, dust, varying temperatures, heavy equipment, and active operations.
• Required to follow all site-specific safety requirements and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Travel to project sites, client locations, and other Alberici offices may be required.
• Work hours may vary based on project schedules, critical activities, shutdowns, and client requirements.
