Full Job Description
Ecobat's Industrial Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing and production equipment within our Indianapolis facility. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance teams, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and implementing strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. The supervisor will lead efforts to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. By managing resources effectively and fostering a culture of proactive maintenance, this role directly contributes to operational excellence and cost control. Ultimately, the Industrial Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all maintenance operations align with organizational goals, supporting production targets and overall business success.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directs workers engaged in performing structural repairs to physical plant, and the repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery and equipment. Directs workers in the dismantling, assembly, and installation of industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Assists workers in the diagnosis and repair and calibration of machinery and production equipment. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provides specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties. Inspects completed work for conformance with blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Reviews production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Maintains time and production records. Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring work orders and/or PM are completed correctly with accurate information and closed in a timely manner.
  • Communicates company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Complies with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Interpersonal Communication Skills: The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members, management, and other departments is essential.
  • Industrial Maintenance Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance is required. This experience should encompass a comprehensive understanding of maintenance processes, equipment, and best practices within an industrial setting.
  • Supervisory Experience: Candidates must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience, with a proven track record of managing teams effectively. Experience working in a union environment is considered a significant advantage.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer applications relevant to maintenance management and reporting is necessary. Candidates should be familiar with maintenance management software and possess the ability to analyze data and generate reports as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties oft this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in this work environment is usually very loud. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
