Full Job Description
Position: Industrial Maintenance and Reliability Technician III (IMRT III)
Location: Waco, TX
Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM; overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $44.43/hour

Summary Description

The Industrial Maintenance and Reliability Technician III (IMRT III) is an advanced maintenance position responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing and facility equipment to maximize reliability, safety, and production uptime.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the IMRT III performs complex preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems. This position requires advanced troubleshooting capabilities, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions while also providing guidance and support to less experienced technicians.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and safe machine operation.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot motors, contactors, relays, and other electrical components using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, PLCs, industrial controls, and motor-control systems.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair chillers, process pumps, compressors, ink pumps, glue pumps, and related industrial equipment.
  • Operate and work with shop equipment, including bandsaws, mills, and lathes.
  • Perform equipment repairs and calibrations while minimizing production downtime.
  • Identify root causes of recurring equipment issues and implement effective, sustainable repairs.
  • Ensure production and related equipment remain in safe and reliable operating condition.
  • Document completed repairs, parts used, equipment conditions, and maintenance activities within the CMMS.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate spare-parts inventory and an organized parts room.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to less experienced maintenance technicians.
  • Communicate equipment conditions, maintenance concerns, and recommended corrective actions clearly to appropriate team members.
  • Participate in Global Performance System (GPS) activities, including 5Star, Pillar Teams, audits, Near Miss reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized and methodical approach when managing multiple maintenance priorities.
  • Demonstrate accountability, accuracy, adaptability, effective communication, problem-solving, and strong safety awareness.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and respond to overtime or weekend maintenance needs as required.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties and projects as assigned.

  • You have a technical degree and 8+ years of significant industrial or military maintenance experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  • You have strong leadership skills and can mentor or provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians.
  • You have advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • You have experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs.
  • You have experience troubleshooting electrical controls, motors, contactors, relays, and industrial motor-control systems.
  • You can read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
  • You have hands-on experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • You have experience diagnosing equipment failures, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing effective repairs.
  • You have experience working with industrial equipment such as chillers, pumps, compressors, motors, and related systems.
  • Experience with blown film, sheet extrusion, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting, or ancillary flexible-packaging equipment is preferred.
  • You have experience using a CMMS to document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment history.
  • You can safely operate a forklift.
  • You are comfortable using mechanical lifts and ladders and performing work that requires kneeling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • You can work independently, prioritize multiple maintenance needs, and solve complex problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • You are available to work overtime and weekends when production or maintenance needs require it.
