Industrial Engineer. This position will be based in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Overview: Siemens is seeking a proactive and results-oriented
Industrial Engineer to oversee and drive critical projects within the organization aimed at cost reduction, throughput improvement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering, with expertise in managing operational excellence projects, leading lean initiatives, and sustaining daily management systems. This role is crucial in optimizing the operational processes and contributing to the overall business goals of Siemens.
Responsibilities: - Cost Reduction Projects (PUMA):): Conduct time-and-motion studies, gather process data, and use mathematical modeling to support decision-making. Identify, lead, and implement cost-saving initiatives across various functions, using data-driven analysis, time studies and engineering methods to optimize processes and reduce operational costs.
- Quality Improvement Projects: Drive First pass yield, establish & enforce quality control procedures and standards by developing standard work
- Throughput Improvement: Develop, test, and implement integrated systems involving people, materials, information, and machinery to streamline operations. Evaluate existing workflows and processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Develop strategies and drive improvements to increase throughput and ensure more efficient use of resources.
- Lean Project Leadership: Lead and support the design and implementation of lean projects, including but not limited to value stream mapping, waste reduction, Kaizen events, implementing 5S programs, creating flow, sustaining standard work and continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and efficiency across production lines.
- OpsEdge Rollout: Support and lead the rollout of Siemens' OpsEdge (OPEX) Program across various departments. Ensure adherence to DMS practices for improved performance tracking, issue resolution, and continuous monitoring of operational metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, logistics, and maintenance to implement & share best practices in manufacturing and operations processes.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Create, build and use data analysis tools to assess operational performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports for management. Provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and support in data streaming projects
- Training & Development: Provide coaching and mentoring to staff in lean methodologies, process optimization, and daily management practices. Facilitate workshops and training sessions as needed.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with Siemens' health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe and compliant work environment & also assessing ergonomic safety design improvements
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (3 - 5 years) in Industrial engineering, Project management, and Continuous improvement initiatives, preferably within manufacturing or large-scale operational environments.
- Ability to analyze work streams and create innovative ways of optimizing work by "doing more with less" mindset.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, and process optimization techniques.
- Experience with Daily Management Systems (DMS) implementation and optimization is desirable.
- Proficiency in data analysis/data streaming tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, Power BI, SAP, Tableau) and process simulation tools.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience simulating manufacturing systems and processes
- Experience with computer programming and/or database management
- Practical experience training others on Engineering topics like reading blueprints, Bill of materials, Engineering drawings, equipment and tooling usage and maintenance, and safety.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

The pay range for this position is $82,538 - $141,494 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
