Industrial Engineer - Manufacturing Innovation
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing productivity, labor optimization, capacity planning, and innovation initiatives within a production environment. This role combines traditional industrial engineering practices with support for advanced manufacturing technologies and continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to productivity improvements, operational efficiency, innovation programs, and cross-functional project execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and track direct and indirect labor standards and work methods.
• Monitor labor performance metrics, efficiencies, and productivity measures.
• Conduct time and motion studies and maintain accurate process documentation.
• Analyze manufacturing constraints and equipment cycle times to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support constraint analysis activities and operational performance reviews.
• Perform ergonomic assessments and support workstation and packaging design evaluations.
• Assist with workstation layout updates using 2D CAD tools.
• Maintain capacity planning documentation, volume planning worksheets, and headcount-related data.
• Support execution of innovation initiatives and track progress against established objectives.
• Provide engineering and project management support for advanced manufacturing technology projects.
• Participate in innovation meetings and support projects from concept through implementation.
• Assist with project tracking, documentation, and reporting activities.
• Facilitate idea generation sessions and support proof-of-concept projects.
• Evaluate workstation readiness for adoption of new manufacturing technologies.
• Support internal communications related to innovation programs and project achievements.
• Assist with manufacturing capacity expansion planning, equipment validation, and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive operational improvements.
• Participate in industry benchmarking activities, workshops, and training events to identify best practices.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including labor analysis, time studies, motion studies, and productivity improvement.
• Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating deliverables across teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and highly collaborative with the ability to manage changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Familiarity with MODAPTS methodology.
• Experience with ergonomics analysis tools.
• Experience with GSPAS/APT systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and workstation drawings.
• Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies such as robotics, AI vision systems, 3D printing, and autonomous mobile technologies.
• Experience with programming, Power BI, or Power Apps.
