Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer III is responsible for leading complex operational improvement initiatives across distribution and logistics environments through advanced data analysis, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies.

This role owns end-to-end delivery of improvement initiatives, from problem definition through implementation and sustainment, ensuring measurable impact to quality, service, and cost. The Industrial Engineer III partners closely with client stakeholders to define priorities, develop business cases, and drive adoption of solutions in dynamic, multi-site environments.

The position requires strong analytical capability, business acumen, and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-ready insights that drive alignment and decision-making.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Leads end-to-end assessment of distribution and operational processes to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities, building on the process analysis and scope performed at level II.
• Defines problem statements, scope, success metrics, and project plans aligned to client business objectives.
• Independently leads Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives using DMAIC or similar methodologies, delivering measurable and sustained performance improvements.
• Owns development of ROI models, cost-benefit analyses, and financial justifications to prioritize initiatives and influence investment decisions.
• Analyzes complex operational and transactional data across systems (WMS, TMS, YMS) to diagnose systemic issues and identify scalable solutions.
• Synthesizes complex data into clear, executive-level presentations, visualizations, and recommendations that drive decision-making and alignment.
• Leads cross-functional initiatives and influences stakeholders across multiple levels, including operations leadership and client executives.
• Establishes standard work, drives consistency across sites, and ensures sustainability of implemented solutions.
• Leads onsite assessments, workshops, and implementation efforts across multiple client locations.
• Identifies risks, dependencies, and organizational barriers; proactively develops mitigation strategies and drives resolution.
• Coaches and mentors Level I and II Egineers, providing guidance on problem-solving, analysis, and project execution.
• Drives change management efforts and ensure adoption of new processes, tools, and operating models.
• Contributes to development of reusable methodologies, frameworks, and intellectual property within the SCAR practice.

Qualifications and Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field and 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering, supply chain, or operations; or no degree with 7-10 years of stated experience.
• Proven ownership and leadership of Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement projects from initiation through implementation, with demonstrated and sustained business impact.
• Advanced proficiency in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ability to independently develop ROI models, financial analyses, and business cases to support investment decisions.
• Strong analytical capability with experience working across large and complex data sets.
• Ability to synthesize data into executive-ready narratives and influence decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous and client-driven environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (U.S. person status required).
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to client sites.

Nice to Have:

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Experience leading large-scale, multi-site operational transformations.
• Experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
• Advanced experience with WMS, TMS, YMS systems and operational analytics.
• Experience with automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies in operational environments.
• Experience in consulting or client-facing project leadership roles.
• Advanced proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience developing and standardizing processes across multiple sites.

Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time, including use of a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret information displayed on computer screens, printed documents, and electronic reports.

• Ability to lift and carry light materials (e.g., documents, binders, or small office equipment), typically up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including assisting with movement of empty pallets or operational materials in warehouse environments.
• Ability to attend meetings in person or virtually, as required.

• Ability to travel independently to client sites, including air and ground transportation.
• Ability to navigate airports, client facilities, and office environments, which may involve walking moderate distances.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during client meetings, workshops, or site walkthroughs.
• Ability to work in varying environments, including client offices, conference rooms, and controlled industrial or warehouse-adjacent spaces (as applicable).

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $93,000- $110,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
