Job DescriptionThe Industrial Electrician will maintain all electrical equipment in the facility, including the plant machinery, structures, and component parts on which work is being performed.
The Industrial Electrician will:- Analyze and interpret one lines, wiring diagrams, sketches and diagrams to select a logistical approach to troubleshooting, tracing, and testing circuits
- Repair and install electrical or electronic equipment and component parts
- Modify, maintain and install PLC programs
- Perform electrical isolation of equipment for safety of self and others, while minimizing interference to operations
- Advise operators, mechanics and other electrical maintenance personnel of standard operating procedures and requirements for electrical equipment and controls
The Industrial Electrician should have:- Strong knowledge of electrical principles and wiring specification codes
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, electronic drive systems, power distribution equipment, phase motors (single and 3 phase), control instrumentation and VFDs
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Basic PC literacy (Word, email, data entry)
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a current Industrial Electrician 442a or Construction & Maintenance 309a Red Seal license
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate using English language
- Must have at least 2 years work experience as an electrician in a heavy manufacturing/industrial environment
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule, with holiday and weekend requirements
- Must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
