Job Location: New York, New York



Position Responsibilities:

Own the design, development and specification of engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges considering human/equipment interactions for the worldwide delivery station network. Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects and act as highest level technical advisory team in worldwide Amazon Logistics Engineering. Simultaneously manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners and vendors; and create, share and teach tools and educational material on Amazon Logistics' material handling equipment. Additional responsibilities include: Improve, design and develop scalable, highly productive and efficient machines ready for large scale deployments, lead and coordinate concept and design development efforts for optimal solutions through equipment specification, material flow, process design, safety, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations and site layout, work closely with vendors, suppliers and other teams to create solutions, conduct post mortem on designs after implementation, engage customers to identify areas of opportunity within the process and performance, build strong relationships with partner organizations within the company, across business units and across countries, conduct multi-disciplinary process improvement efforts to drive communication and performance, and technical writing for specification and technical document creation.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering or a related field and eight years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): (1) experience in technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects; (2) experience with complex material handling equipment (MHE) and packaging lines, or process design based on Lean Manufacturing; (3) experience using MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software (including with AutoCAD, Inventor, and Emulate3D); (4) experience leading international engineering design projects and interacting with cross-functional global teams; (5) design experience creating mechanical designs for industrial equipment and material handling systems; and (6) safety engineering experience ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations in industrial engineering environments. Domestic and/or international travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $145,300/year to $196,600/year.
