Industrial Designer

Department: Creative

Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 / year

Description

The Industrial Designer is responsible for identifying relevant 3D design trends and consistently bringing fresh inspiration to the team through competitive insights and market awareness. This role focuses on delivering thoughtful, context-driven solutions that blend structural design, engineering principles, and 2D graphic elements. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Industrial Designer helps shape original, strategic, and cohesive creative outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative 3D design solutions across POS, packaging, environments, and event design.
  • Translate client briefs into original concepts and comp structures that align with strategic objectives.
  • Develop detailed 3D models, renderings, and mockups using industry-standard software (e.g., 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite) for internal presentations and client approvals.
  • Integrate 2D graphic elements into cohesive, multidimensional design outcomes.
  • Co-develop cross-functional design solutions in partnership with senior creatives to ensure alignment between design intent, brand goals, budget constraints, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Apply materials knowledge and production understanding to propose realistic and cost-effective retail solutions, ensuring concepts can be produced efficiently at scale.
  • Communicate design intent clearly and use sound judgment to align outcomes with team and client expectations.
  • Independently manage multiple projects with composure, adaptability, and consistent delivery across timelines.
  • Apply mechanical and structural knowledge to ensure designs are accurate and purpose-driven.
  • Incorporate competitive trends and market insights to inspire and guide creative direction.
  • Translate brand identity and guidelines into consistent, physical design applications.
  • Maintain focus and flexibility while navigating fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in industrial design.
  • Proficient in 3D design tools with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, with a focus on presentation software for client-facing deliverables.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills across design, production, and presentation stages.
  • Solid mechanical and structural foundation to support accurate, purpose-driven design solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and apply feedback constructively.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of delivery.
  • Experience contributing to larger, multi-faceted design projects with increasing ownership.
  • Skilled at identifying and applying relevant design trends to elevate creative outcomes.
  • Understanding of brand principles and ability to translate them into physical design environments.
